U.K. says fish oil is useless. Oh really?
It's been a while since we had a good attack on natural medicine. You know, one of those proclamations that supplements are a joke and we've all been brainwashed.
Luckily, the U.K.'s National Health Service (NHS) has come through for us in a big way. They recently issued a report saying that nearly all (yes, ALL! Can you imagine the amount of research that must have gone into such a widespread conclusion?) supplements are nothing but a waste of money and that they don't offer many benefits.
They were especially critical of fish oil, saying that they couldn't find any reason for children or adults to take fish oil supplements. Hmm...I guess my visions of round-the-clock research are wrong after all. In fact, the evidence they used in the review, which they say is misleading and inaccurate, is more than a decade old. Since then there have been plenty of studies (double what was available 10 years ago, in fact!) showing that fish oil is beneficial...dare I say critical...to our health.
Two recent meta-analyses found that regular consumption of fish oil decreases the risk of sudden cardiac death. And I can point out so many additional reasons to take fish oil that I can't even fit them all in this post.
In March, I wrote about research published in the journal Cancer that shows that taking 2.2 grams of fish oil each day helped chemo patients keep their muscle mass and weight up through treatment.
In May of 2008, our team reported that fish oil reduces inflammation and the need for drugs in rheumatoid arthritis.
In July of last year, I told you about the clinical trial that showed 8 weeks of taking a daily fish oil supplement with 1,050 mg of EPA and 150 mg of DHA significantly improved symptoms of depression.
In that same month, I reported about a study in the journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention that showed that fish oil supplements reduced the risk of the most common type of breast cancer by a whopping 32 percent.
So, right there, in about 10 minutes, I was able to find and summarize four major benefits of taking fish oil. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. I wonder why the NHS had so much trouble finding those studies...I guess they're not readers of my posts.
Oh, and funny enough--the NHS deemed fish oil useless, but in the very same report acknowledged that EPA and DHA are important nutrients. Yeah, I'm not sure how that works, either.

These are the same people that would say get your prescription drugs even if you are not suffering, just for maintenance of course. JAM

More government propaganda, from buracratic idiots that have no idea what they are talking about. They want all of us to, as one Big Pharma drug spokesman stated a few years bac, ALL PEOPLE OVER THE AGE OF 60 SHOULD BE TAKING AT LEAST 3-5 OR MORE PILLS A DAY. As I have stated for many years, the only sick people are the ones taling Big Pharma's drugs, and it is the drugs that keep them sick. i personally went thru this 35 years ago, with the help of a Legalized Pill Pusher Doctor. I take none of that crap now not even over the counter. I will never take any of that crap for the rest of my life. Only good n atual healthyfood and natural supplement.

I went to the Chiropractor today. One lady there has cat, and she has her pills in a pill holder ready for several days at a time. Well she goes to get her pills, one is fish oil, and she finds oil all over the place. What is up? Only the fish oil caps are missing! None of her other pills....
You got it! Her cat was getting into her pill holder and getting out just the FISH OIL!!!!! So even cats know the benefits of fish oil!!!
I find allot of "studies" to be just that....."studies"....I wonder who is paying for them?
Be well and happy.

WE can only guess who pays for studies like this, Big Pharma would be one, but also Government bodies and groups who are placed to discredit anything natural, they want a docile, compliant, brainwashed society, who cannot think for them selves, the hidden agenda would also cover up dying sooner on the crap food that they now have us programmed to eat.
People forget that we need the Vitamins and minerals to make amino acids for our bodies to work, we would not be sick at all if we ate food full of natural vitamins, but this is slowly disappearing in the food chain, some of these vitamins are vital to survive but Pesticides do effect vitamins and minerals in the crops, C1B1 an enzyme in green vegetables that protect us from cancer is a classic example
This is completely deactivated. Organic is the answer, but they
often put out trash news reports that say they are no different to sprayed crops, what a joke....

My Daughter refused to take fish oil and she got cancer..
I whish she had known the value of fish oil and iodine too can help prevent cancer but it is hard to find iodine anymore I guess we got to get it from seaweed.

Your daughter did not get cancer because she didn't take fish oil. Fish oil if anything can contribute to cancer, not prevent it especially if you 'overdose'. She developed cancer by a simple yet rarely known or understood process and fact-the level of oxygen delivery to her body's cells dropped significantly (more than 35%) thus leading her cells to to either die or find another way to get it's energy it needs to survive. If it doesn't die it gets it's energy from sugar (carbohydrates) and then the cell becomes simply a growing machine with no other purpose other than to grow and grow.
