I found this to be very informative and helpful. Thank you.

Video presentations are fads--and fads fade--hopefully soon. Stop chasing off your subscribers. We can find "alkaline-rich foods" online without you. Put it in an archivable print article.
Re natural cancer therapies vs chemo, etc: Several for-pay MD-based newsletters say nobody should do radiation, chemo, or surgery--and that a recent survey of oncologists showed that 80% of them would not use any traditional cancer treatments on themselves or their loved ones. Why? A: Because they are "ineffective" for cancer. But that they would continue to use these treatments on their patients.
Further coverup--it's illegal to say Essiac cures cancer. It's not that it doesn't, mind you--it's just illegal to say so. Here's the neat story on that. Essiac, aka Ojibwa Tea, sheep sorrel tea, Indian Tea, Indian Herbal Tea--recipes are on the Net--was found to show, reliably, a 100% full and permanent recovery rate (not "cured") for non-terminal cancers, 98% if terminal, and 100% for even terminal AIDS/HIV after taking it 5 years. BUT--a gag order went into effect the same day the AMA found out about Essiac's cancer-fighting ability. In the 1960s, when President Kennedy's PCP announced on national TV that this "Indian Tea" cured his own colon cancer with no other intervention, that same day the AMA poured millions of dollars (before anti-bribery laws were passed), for Congress to initiate and pass into law a federal law making it illegal for anyone even a doctor to tell anyone that anything cures anything. From start to finish, it all took place in less than 24 hours after it was announced on TV. So that this PCP could not tell anyone what was in Essiac, as he had promised on TV to do the next day. I watched both those shows--the one announcing "Indian Tea", and the one next day apologizing for not being able to say what was in this "Indian Tea" that he used on his own cancer--because two Secret Service men had showed up at his office at 7 am that morning to say a law had been passed overnight making it a federal felony to for anyone, even a doctor, to tell anyone that anything cured anything, or to tell anyone about anything that cured anything, or to tell them what was in it. The joke went around my hometown in the days following, that now you could go to jail for saying British sailors used to eat limes to cure rickets, so they were called Limeys.
A few years later, Canada was only 3 votes shy of voting it "a cure for cancer"--the 3 dissenting legislators later said they believed it was a cancer cure but they voted against it for "other reasons." They wouldn't say what reasons.
William C. Douglass II, in one of his newsletters of 2011, told the same story of President Kennedy's PCP's cured cancer, and gave the name and contact data of the only company with legal manufacturing rights to make and distribute Essiac. But the recipe has been all over the Net for decades, and Essiac is sold by several companies, under such names as Esiak, Ojibwa Herbal Tea, Indian Herbal Tea. Trick is, to grow the plants in rich soil, harvest at full potency times of year, keep final product cool, away from heat, light, air, and take it at bedtime on an empty stomach 5 nights in a row per week. Sheep sorrel leaves are the active ingredient (in Europe, pennyroyal leaves).
How do I know it works? A friend's recurring vaginal cancer (after a hysterectomy that "got it all"), totally went away and her formerly plateau'd terminal-AIDS T-cell count increased from 250 to 750+, in just 3 months on a pretty cheap brand of Essiac, under $10/month. Medical science says that after a terminal AIDS patient's T-cell count falls below 250, AIDS meds can bring it back to 250, but never higher than 250. Hers was nearly 800 after Essiac was added to her AIDS meds. Her recurring cancer left and never returned.
Anybody can grow sheep sorrel--it's a weed! Just be very sure you aren't pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or nursing!

Hm considering Youtube was launched in 2005 and is going strong 6 years later (and still growing every single day) I'd say video presentations are not a fad at all. And thank goodness because I personally enjoy them. They provide a nice break and are a fun way to learn something new. I even read somewhere that the average person watches 182 online videos a month! I'd suggest if you're someone who doesn't like videos you, well, don't watch them then and stop complaining about them or trying to speak for everyone else. Don't like...don't watch. And besides it looks like there are PLENTY of free articles to read on this site should you decide to skip the videos so I don't get what the problem is. Amazes me when people complain about the things they get for free. Thanks for running the videos...this subscriber loves them!

voxpop75 if you don't like the video turn it off, leave and keep your comments to yourself. Unless it's positive nobody cares what you think! The only thing ridiculous here are your comments.
Excellent info, Alice, thanks!

I prefer the printed text to vidoes which I consider a waste of time. They are frequently long winded and repetitive and can take up to half an hour. With text I can either save the article to read later or paste and copy to Microsoft Word either in its entirety or in important segments to keep in my records.
I have noticed that if I exit a video I am sometimes given the option to either 'exit' or 'stay on the page'. If I choose the latter it usually brings up the printed text of the message which suits me just fine. This option is not available on "Healthier Talk" and is something I believe they should consider.
Video or Text - you choose !

Trudy this was a very important video. It's a pitty that most people and even MD's are not aware of the importance of the Ph as far as health is concerned.
I want to ask what you think about adding a little bit of sodiumbicarbonate to drinking water. Sodiumbicarbonate is very alkaline.
I think that those who are complaining about watching the video should take more alkaline food instead of caffeine drinks Which makes them nervous
Thank you for the video

I too am unhappy with the informational video craze. What it takes a person 15 minutes to 'tell' me I could read in probably less than 5 minutes (Plus the office eavesdroppers don't know what I'm doing!). I understand that some people learn better with audio but I'm an visual learner. I prefer the option of the written word. It's very nice when both options are available. And I must not be in the minority because most of the time when you 'exit' a video it offers you the chance to read it instead.
Love this website though and the information you share!

Hi everyone,
Thanks so much for your comments and input. We value each opinion and appreciate that you took the time to share it. We take all your comments into consideration when planning future articles, features, etc...
Here at HealthierTalk.com we strive to have a good mix of information for you to learn from and enjoy.
For those of you that prefer reading articles we post lots of those. In fact, in a typical week here we often post 30+ new articles for you to enjoy.
For those of you that enjoy watching videos we typically post one or two a week and we also occasionally toss in a "just for fun" video as well.
When a transcript is provided with a video we always include it (or a link to it). However, many videos that DO provide valuable information DO NOT have transcripts and we do still chose to share these as well.
If a video does not have a transcript and you prefer a written article you can try the search box in the upper right hand corner. You are bound to find some useful information on the topic you are interested in. In addition under the video there are often "Related articles & videos of interest" links and you will often find something interesting to read there as well.
Once again, thanks for sharing your thoughts on this!

Alice: I am one of those life long students and appreciate information of interest whether it be in writing or on video, so I thank you for putting this information together for all of us. I have been using the lemon in water for years (when basically I gave up drinking soda). When I was diagnosed as a diabetic, I didn't like the thought of the routine of meds and more meds. I started with a research project as to what changes I can make in my lifestyle with the goal of not needing meds. Incorporating more of the alkalizing foods has a great appeal for my plans. Also something that I can share with others which could be helpful to them. Thanks for the list. I will write out the list for my information.

I didnt know watermelon was alkalizing. You can add a little bit maybe 1/4 tsp of b. soda to you tea or coffee after brewing and let the pot just sit a few min. and it will neutralize some of the acid and it doesnt hurt the taste. I like the videos someties so I can liksten and be on fb on hotmail but a bulleted list is usually the easiet way to read . maybe you could offer one as a print out with your videos. what about limes and grapefriut?/ I drink lemon water to help keep down yeast. for yeast or alkalizing squeeze 1 or 2 lemons into maybe 1/2 glass of water first thing in a.m. drink on an dempty stomach. drinkm lemon water during the day but doesnt have to be as strong. I have vulva cancer so I must keep my ph up. anyone else know anything else please post

Belinda:
I believe getting Alkaline brings health benefits.
Check out #4 message above - It seems to be well written and it is a tea that is referred to a lot in the alternative circles.
Books you might refer to are:
pH Miracle by Robert O. Young, PhD
7 Pillars of Health by Dr. Don Colbert
These authors each have several books to their credit.
There are different units to alkaline the water which actually restructures the water. Many of the alternataive doctors recommend using alkaline water, but some don't. Just like other people, not everybody agrees with everything.
You can check the internet for a list of alkaline/acidic foods and generally most recommend about 80/20 proportion of the foods for your diet.
The following can be a general guide for eating more alkaline:
1) Eliminate soft drinks of all kinds
2) Reduce consumption of caffeine (1-2 cups per day)
3) Reduce consumption of hydrogenated oils
4) Reduce consumption of sugar, especially corn syrup
5) Decrease all "white foods" (flour, sugar, rice, etc.)
6) Increase consumption of fruits and vegetables
7) Green drinks are a good addition (available in Health Food Stores) There are some good smoothie receipes, but go easy on how much sugar you use. I personally add lemon juice to the Green Drinks.
8) Eliminate all artificial sweetners from your diet
I trust you find this information useful
